Experimenting with Filters

I wanted to understand more about filters. So I opened a picture of little boy's face on Gimp, cropped around it, and took its dimensions. Next, I multiplied its dimensions by three (because I wanted the project to be three heads by three heads), opened a "Create a New Image" window from the Files menu, and entered the results of my multiplication. I then opened a grid to help me align my project. After that, I copied the original picture onto the window with the grid. I then made a new layer to copy the next head. I did this continually until the heads added up to nine heads. Then, I clicked I on each layer and chose a different filter from the Filter menu for each one. As a result, I got a pretty cool looking project.
